Happy Analogy Learning

Lee Man Sum

In this video, the teacher uses the pictures of an arch bridge, with its reflection in the water and a full moon, to invite students to make comparisons and associations. The teacher then introduces the topic¬ – the definition of “analogy” and its usage. The video also describes the general structure of an analogy. Words that signal analogies (“like” or “as”) are used to highlight the relationship between two similar objects or concepts. The teacher then uses the elephant as an example and encourages the students to practise using analogy in class.
