Reading Strategy: Predicting the Content of the Text

This video is designed for the pre-reading stage of the 'Pre-While-Post- Reading' model targeting Secondary 1 students. The theme of the lesson is 'My Sea Creature Pal - Sea Turtle'. In this lesson, the pre-reading stage is to activate students' schema about a sea turtle (e.g. appearance, living condition, habitat) and arouse their interest for the upcoming lesson content. Then, students are instructed on how to use headings, first paragraph, and first sentence of each paragraph to predict the contents of the text, and lastly decide the most suitable title for the text.
