本影片是回應初中歷史科中一級課題四「早期香港地區的歷史、文化與傳承」內的基礎部分 —「主要文系與姓族」。根據課程文件，相關課題的學習重點在於本地姓族及其他主要民系的不同生活模式。這一次我們找到上水區鄉事委員會主席侯志強先生為我們介紹香港五大姓族之一的侯氏的歷史。同學在影片中可以留意訪問所介紹的侯氏族人在香港發展的歷史、傳統習俗和對早期香港地區的貢獻。
