本課先以字謎引起動機，主題為「漢字的包圍結構」。透過結構圖和手勢展示各個結構型態，向學生初步介紹包圍結構的種類。然後，每一種結構都會配詞舉例，變單體識字為群體識字，讓學生可以集中認識結構相同的字詞。同時，課堂會展示相關照片，形、音、義結合講解以強化學生的印象。
